February 23^rd, 2008 for qualification rounds

February 24^th, 2008 for final round

 This competition is open to all ages and genders 

Format:  The contest will have one round of 5 kicks for all entrants.  Under the supervision of a qualified referee, who will be assisted by qualified touch judges.

Each kicker will kick 3 place kicks from an approved kicking tee from a distance of 22 meters from the try line.  The first will be directly in front of the posts.  The second and third kicks will be from the intersection of the 5 yard line (lineout marker) on either side of the posts.  These kicks will score 2 points each. 

Each kicker will take 2 drop kicks; the first from a distance of 22 meters and the second from 32 meters.  These kicks will score 3 points each. 

The top kickers as determine by points scored will go through to a Semi Final Round to take place on Saturday evening. 

The top two players will advance to the Final Round which will take place at the half time of the Premier Division Final on Sunday February 24^th, 2008. . 

Any tie break will be resolved by a repetition of the above.  If sudden death is required it will consist of drop kicks from the 15 yard line progressively moving 10 meters back from the 22.

Kicker must take direct kicks off of a tee. Only indirect kicks will be taken off the ground.

Kicker can move mark to an improved surface within reason but can not improve the mark closer to the posts.

All entrants must be available for assigned time for the kicking competition.

Competitors can only use the uniform rugby ball provided by the tournament director.

Competitors must complete each kick within the allotted time of 30 seconds.

The spirit and laws will be enforced and no foul play will be tolerated.

The referee’s decision is final on all matters of fact in this competition. 

Rules may be amended as needed according to the tournament director only to facilitate a more efficient competition.

No substitutions will be permitted for entrants. Government photo identification may be requested to confirm the identity of the competitors.

Participants can register for this event at the Murvest Fine Foods Kicking Competition Tent that will be located close to the Organizer’s Tent at the Ruggerfest location.  There will be no registration prior to February 23^rd, 2008.  Cash will be required for registration. 

Registration will be for a limited time only on Saturday February 23^rd.

 Participants do not have to be part of a team entered in the Ruggerfest divisions.
